I tend to release new designs for Nina Mantra Jewelry as inspiration strikes rather than in season collections as most do. This really is for no reason other than that I’m inspired by so many different things from one day to the next, and once in creative mode I can’t wait to share the result of my inspiration with others. Recently, I posted a video clip and some stunning photos from the Yosemite Project, which was a collaborative project by Sheldon Neill and Colin Delehanty that captured the natural beauty of Yosemite in an incredible way. The wide array of colors in the landscapes and scenery of this project inspired me to create the Power Medallion. My aim in designing this piece was to combine some of my favorite power stones into a single glistening medallion, while reflecting some of the most beautiful colors found in nature. The medallion features various shades of Clear Quartz, Aura Quartz, Peacock Ore, and Pyrite–a combination of minerals which promotes creativity, happiness, and positive energy.
Another one of my new pieces is the Skywatcher Necklace, which is inspired by and named after the book ‘”The Skywatchers of Ancient Mexico” written by Anthony Aveni. The people of ancient Mexico were a highly advanced civilization as shown by their art, sculpture, architecture, written records, and their calendars, which revealed that mathematics and astronomy were among their intellectual hallmarks. This necklace features a vivid combination of mixed turquoise and pyrite, set inside a geometric patterned base.
